How to use the Bankers Library

Hours of Operation

  • 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday
  • The Library is closed on bank holidays in Japan.
  • For temporary closing days, refer to NOTICE on menu page.

Before entering the Library

  • All users are requested to follow the necessary security-check procedures when entering our building, Ginko Kaikan.
  • Personal belongs except writing materials should be checked in a locker at the Library or the reception desk on the first floor. Following materials/tools/device or equivalents are not permitted to be brought into and used in the Library:

Bags including attache cases, brief cases, paper and plastic bags; Calculator; Cameras; Handy-phones or PHS; Photocopying machines, etc.

How to obtain Admission

  • At Reception, users are requested to fill in his/her name and place of work (bank/company) on admission form on the desk.

Reference Service

  • Library staffs are always on call for reference at the desk except lunch hour. Reference service is also available by phone, letter or facsimile letter.

Photocopying Service

  • The Library is one of the authorized libraries, which can offer photocopying service to the public, under the Copyright Law of Japan. The Library offers photocopying service only if the application conforms to the law.
  • Service hours is between 9:30 and 16:30 (excluding lunch hour).
  • B5, A4, B4 and A3 sizes are available.
  • The charge, 30 yen per sheet, should be paid in cash in exchange of the photocopies.

Borrowing Conditions

  • Borrowers are limited to those who are executives/staffs of the Tokyo Bankers Association's member banks and live in or work inside Tokyo.
  • Executives and staffs of banks or bank holding companies belonging to the Japanese Bankers Association may borrow library materials under certain restriction.
  • Borrowers are requested to present the employee's identification card or equivalents by which the Library staff can verify the borrower's eligibility.
  • The borrowing procedure should be followed by user-self. A proxy cannot undertake the borrowing procedure.
  • To sublet the borrowed materials is strictly prohibited.
  • Borrowers are obliged to return the materials immediately whenever the Library demand to return them.
  • If the borrowed materials is lost, soiled or damaged, the borrower should reimburse for the material.
