Since 1872 when the first modern banking law was enacted, nearly 6000 banks were established in Japan. "Hompo Ginko Hensen-shi" (the transition of Japanese banks), compiled by the Bankers Library, is an unique and easy-to-use reference tool to find these banks' transition (foundation, merger, acquisition, dissolution, etc.). The book (written in Japanese; ca. 900 p., 30 cm.) is now available at Publication Office, Tokyo Bankers Association, Inc. with the cost of 12000 yen plus postal charge. (order by facsimile: +81.3.5252.3123).
