On December 16, JBA compiled and released the operational flow chart on stock collateral transactions under the New Transfer System for e-Stocks in conjunction with the dematerialization of stock certificates that was to begin on January 5, 2009.
Previously, JBA discussed on the process for providing stock as collateral in order to encourage the widespread use of e-stock collateral as a financial vehicle for fund procurement, while preserving the convenience and ease-of-use of stock collateral transactions following the dematerialization of stock certificates. Based on these discussions, JBA compiled and released an operational flow chart on using e-stocks as collateral (published material) in April 2007. The newest operational flow chart is a revised version and is based on the result of discussions regarding the process for transfers by related parties, such as the Japan Securities Dealers Association, etc., that were held after the release of the first version.
