JBA Submits Requests concerning the Handling Charge for Direct Debits of National Taxes

JBA finalized a written request to raise the handling charge for direct debits of national taxes at its Board of Directors Meeting held on July 20, and submitted it to the National Tax Administration Agency on July 21.The government has paid ten yen per debit (besides the mailing cost of receipts to tax payers) to financial institutions as a handling charge for direct debits of national taxes since January 1996. Since these figures are well below that needed to cover costs incurred by banks, JBA asked the government to pay a proper handling charge for the service.
