JBA's Publicizing of the New Policy on Money Transfers Exceeding 100,000 Yen

As a result of revisions to the cabinet/ministerial ordinances for the Law on Customer Identification, from January 4, banks are required to identify customers at counters when they transfer cash totaling more than 100,000 yen. JBA issued advertisements about this via newspapers and TVs.

A five-column, half-page advertisement was posted in 43 national, block and regional newspapers on December 25-27, 2006.

Fifteen-second spot announcements also ran on TV nationwide over the period of December 27, 2006 through January 5, 2007.

Additionally, JBA produced posters and stickers about this in September 2006 to distribute to members, and has issued announcements via radio since October 2006. In December 2006, the special feature "Money transfers exceeding 100,000 yen" was posted on the JBA website to provide detailed information.
