JBA Submits Opinions to the Postal Services Privatization Committee Again

JBA submitted its opinions to the Postal Services Privatization Committee on January 30 concerning the "View concerning Deliberation of New Businesses of the Postal Savings Bank and Postal Insurance Company," which had been released by the Committee in December 2006 to solicit for comments.

The Committee responded to opinions of JBA and others in the "Result of Soliciting Opinions on the View concerning Deliberation of New Businesses of the Postal Savings Bank and Postal Insurance Company" released on February 27.

JBA drafted an opinion on this document in the Planning Committee and submitted it to the Committee's Secretariat on March 30.

In the opinion paper, JBA reiterated its request to the Committee that it encourages the Japan Post Group to draft a business model and management plan based on a reduced size, thoroughly efficient management and selection of core businesses, and monitors the progress in eliminating the tacit government guarantee.
