Study Group on the Financial System Publishes Fiscal 2006 Reports

The Study Group on the Financial System (established by JBA and headed by Visiting Professor Keimei Kaizuka, Kyoto Sangyo University) compiled and published reports based on their fiscal 2006 studies on July 23.

- Report of the First Subgroup: CSR Activities and Environment-Conscious Behavior of Financial Institutions

The First Subgroup (subgroup leader: Professor Yoshinori Shimizu, Hitotsubashi University) studied this theme since “Promoting CSR” is one of the priority issues of JBA in FY2006. Its findings were already released at the symposium titled “Aiming to Bolster CSR Activities and Environment-Conscious Actions at Financial Institutions” held on March 6. The report includes the above findings and articles by each subgroup member on the issue. The composition of the report is as follows.

- Report of the Second Subgroup: Tax Reforms in Foreign Countries and Ideal Taxation of Financial Income

The Second Subgroup (subgroup leader: Professor Toshihiro Ihori, University of Tokyo) studied this theme since realizing taxation that is neutral regarding various financial products and simple for individual investors is essential to prevent taxation from distorting optimum resource allocation as accountholders move their monies “from savings to investment.” The composition of the report is as follows.
